Golang developer for our Crowdsource team

What we do at Detectify

Detectify was born from the simple idea that the internet is broken. Our founders are among the best ethical hackers in the world. They have found critical vulnerabilities at tech giants like Google, Facebook, and Dropbox and used their hacker knowledge to build an advanced web application security scanner that is used by companies such as Spotify, Trello, and KING.

We also collaborate with our global network of handpicked white-hat hackers, Detectify Crowdsource, who continuously provide us with valuable security research. Our crowd-based security program allows us to bring in the best independent security researchers in the world and automate their findings into our scanner.

The Crowdsource team

You will be joining the Crowdsource team. This team makes sure that the members of Detectify Crowdsource – our invite-only network of white-hat hackers – are engaged and enjoying the best possible experience when submitting bug bounty reports and collaborating with Detectify.

When a white-hat hacker submits a proof-of-concept of vulnerability through our platform, our team automates the research by developing a module, which is then made available to our customers through our web vulnerability scanner. We then reward the white-hat hacker for each finding that is generated in our customer base. This is how Detectify combines automation and crowdsourcing.

What you'll get to do

As a developer in the Crowdsource Team, you’ll join our backend and frontend developers that maintain and improve the Crowdsource platform. Through this channel, we interact with our white-hat hacker community and receive their research reports. The community members can see stats about their own submissions and payouts, information about our customers’ tech stack, as well as other researchers’ participation and leaderboard. The main language in our core service development teams is Go and you’ll be the first full-time Go developer in our Crowdsource Team. Therefore, you’ll be able to learn and develop your Go skills together with the rest of the organization while working in an agile and cross-functional team to continuously develop the researcher experience. You will be building microservices in Go in order to create a connection between the Detectify core services and our Crowdsource platform. You will also replace functionality that is currently written in PHP.

Tech you will be working with:

  • Golang
  • Message queues (e.g. RabbitMQ)
  • AWS (RDS, S3, EC2, Glue, Athena, Firehose)
  • SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • Docker and Kubernetes

Who you are

You set and achieve your own ambitious goals and like to solve complicated technical problems with a team full of creative problem solvers. You think it is meaningful to continuously evaluate and reflect on your own solutions and seek outside recommendations to improve.

You have knowledge in either Go, Java or .NET, You also come from a background where you are used to working with load-heavy backend applications such as:

  • Message queues
  • Streaming data
  • Microservices

So, what do you think?

We welcome people from all backgrounds who seek the opportunity to help build a more secure internet. If you have the curiosity, passion, and collaborative spirit, work with us, and let’s do this together. It will be fun!
